The GATE partners travelled to Berlin for a one day focus group meeting in August. The main purpose of this meeting was to discuss and agree the content and format of the GATE closing conference in Cardiff, Wales. This will be titled 'Timber for Tomorrow's Europe' and the conference will be held in the prestigious Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay on the 4th October.

The conference day will be preceded by a day of site visits for the partners and their stakeholders. This will include visits to the Welsh School of Architecture to see their work and receive a presentation of the 'Ty Unnos' building system. Followed by a visit to St. Fagans open air museum of Welsh life where partners will see fine examples of traditional Welsh buildings, many with a strong timber element. The afternoon will consist of tours to the Wales Millennium Centre and the Welsh Assembly Government building.

A big thank you once again to our Thuringian partners for organising this meeting.
